During the FIFA World Cup, Asara, a Relais & Chateaux hotel in the Cape Winelands near Stellenbosch, is offering its five-star accommodation facilities in Stellenbosch at the standard high season rate.

"The World Cup event has made of what is usually an off-season period for the hotel industry a high season peak, but we are not jumping on the bandwagon of exorbitant pricing. We will also be offering normal restaurant menu prices." said Horst Frehse, general manager.

"We will have an ideal opportunity to showcase our country, our very special destination and our hotel, albeit during our winter season which usually has lots of sun and blue skies - and often better than the summer season in the northern hemisphere!"

There are also discounts for five-night packages which include full South African breakfasts, two three-course dinners including coffee/tea on evenings of choice for two guests.

"We are open for business as usual as far as conference and banqueting facilities are concerned, with special conference rates applicable for the period 1 June to 12 July 2010, although the accommodation rates remain at the standard high season rate," Frehse said.

Altogether 39 units are available: 33 room types (De Luxe, Classic De Luxe, Courtyard), three suites and three spacious apartments.

Asara Wine Estate & Hotel is situated on the Polkadraai Road (M12), Stellenbosch, about 25 minutes from Cape Town International Airport and close to the motorways for easy access to Cape Town.
